The A1E1 Independent was an experimental British heavy tank developed during the 1920s to explore new armoured warfare concepts. Featuring five separate turrets, it was intended to engage multiple targets simultaneously. Although only a single prototype was built, its innovative design influenced tank development in Britain, Germany, and the Soviet Union during the inter-war period.
